A tricky dish, céréales pour le petit déjeuner, also known in English as ‘breakfast cereal’ is a simple 2 ingredient dish. Eaten mainly by children, but enjoyed by children of all ages. Sometimes eaten in the evening and known as ‘brinner’.
INGREDIENTS
1 -2 cups of your favourite boxed breakfast cereal
250ml of milk (skim, lite, low fat, full cream, extra dollop or soy)
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Breakfast bowl
Measuring Cup
Spoon
METHOD
- Place bowl on bench, sit spoon (face up) next to the bowl on the bench.
- Measure out your breakfast cereal. Be sure not to allow the plastic toy or basketball card to stay in the bowl.
- Top up with milk.
- Serve immediately, this dish does not keep well and does not freeze.
RECIPE VARIATIONS
For variety, mix 2 cereals together – a favourite that can double as a tasty dessert is 1/2 coco pops and 1/2 fruit loops.
